Xmen baddies redesigns

EDIT: To this day I'm still very fond of this piece, so I did a few touchups here and there. I also took out the Apocalypse design in favor of putting Toad in there. I feel I altered too much of the character on that design, and it had gone beyond a mere change in his aesthetic. I might go back to doing another set of these and doing a more appropriate design for Apocalypse.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I got hooked on redesigning stuff for the project rooftop blogspot, so here are some designs I submitted to get it out of my system and be able to go back to working on my stuff hahaha.

This I wanted to work on some of the xmen baddies that caught my eye as a kid while watching the animated series. I chose Apocalypse, The Blob, Juggernaut, and Mr. Sinister because I feel the designs I saw them in were either not accurately describing them or in the case of The Blob were just too bland.

Toad: This character seems to be in this awkward place where people always remember to include him, but he remains so unimportant that everything about his "story" gets muddled between writers. It's a real shame since he's one of the few examples of what a not so ideal mutation would be like in the Xmen universe. I quite liked his most recent role as the janitor in the Jean gray school where he's managed to finally develop his character a bit, so I kept that as part of his design. Aside from that I simply wanted to make him look more frog-like to move him as far away as possible to the changes that he got from the first xmen movie where they thought that making him look like a regular guy was some kind of an improvement.

The Blob: I really liked The Blob in both the comics and the animated series. His design however, as i mentioned before, leaves much to be desired. He looks like a normal guy who just happens to be fat. There's not much character to his outfit or design overall. I based this one off of The Blob from the X-men evolution tv show. I like this raunchy fat guy being into monster trucks and wrestling because those are the environments that i feel he can shine, and not just be the target for fat jokes. His color scheme is based off of a package of cheese puffs to reflect his original colors, help him pop out together with a more bombastic personality, and to make him look even more unhealthy and greasy.

Juggernaut: I was shocked to discover that Juggernaut is not a mutant, but rather a guy who got the powers of some evil deity by coming in contact with a red jewel. I changed his design the least because i feel It works very well as it is, not to mention how iconic his helmet is. I just gave him a "dark magic" flair to resemble the deity from which he draws his power from.

Mr. Sinister: This guy is supposed to be a mishmash of mutant DNA with a vampire design. His vampire influence however feels outdated, and the recent solution to eliminate his weird suit from the 90's for random fancy man clothes takes away his scary side. I made his body protect itself by taking the form of a vampiric bio-suit with a red and meaty texture.
